Fact Sheet: DHS Announces New Process to Promote the Unity and Stability of Families

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced actions to promote family unity in the immigration process, consistent with the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to keeping families together. This announcement utilizes existing authorities to promote family unity, but only Congress can fix our broken immigration system.
Secretary Mayorkas Extends and Redesignates Temporary Protected Status for Sudan Redesignation Enables Additional Eligible Sudanese Nationals to Apply for TPS and Employment Authorization Documents

WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today announced an extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Sudan for 18 months, from October 20, 2023, through April 19, 2025, due to extraordinary and temporary conditions in Sudan that prevent individuals from safely returning. In addition, DHS announced a redesignation of TPS for Sudan for the same reason, allowing Sudanese nationals (and individuals having no nationality who last habitually resided in Sudan) residing in the United States as of August 16, 2023 to be eligible for TPS. 
Republicans Propose Skilled-Based Immigration Reform; President Trump Onboard As a result of the heavy burden on the U.S. economy due to the increase in the number of immigrants now receiving welfare benefits in the United States, it is now becoming popular among native Americans to cut the number of immigrants migrating to the United States yearly by changing the U.S. Immigration laws to support merit based immigration system. According to the White House, the family based immigration system will be faced out. President Trump is in full support of the merit based system, therefore, all immigrants in the U.S. should take advantage of the current system before it is too late. According to the White House publication of August 2, 2017 “For decades, low-skilled and unskilled immigration into the United States has surged, depressing wages and harming America’s most vulnerable citizens.

Petition For Your Family Members Now, Tomorrow Might Be Too Late As Congress Plans To Limit Family-Based Migration

All immigrants must take advantage of the existing laws to petition for their loved ones before it is too late. 

President Trump’s style of leadership is to seek to please his base voters without minding the damage such move will do to the economy of the United States. It has always been the wish of his base voters to shut the doors of immigration and reduce the access to the United States through family based migration. Many in the anti-immigration movement believe that immigrants are responsible for all the problems of the United States and they are determined to build walls, change laws and shut out immigrants particularly those who are not highly skilled and educated.

Humanitarian Waiver For Non-Immigrant Visa Applicants

Some of them misrepresented facts to the Consular Officer while some attempted entry with forged visas and were sent back.
